Pickles Recruitment are hiring! We are seeking a reliable and motivated Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload goods within our warehouse facility. This position involves working on rotating weekly shifts, alternating between early and late shifts. The role will require adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products around the warehouse.
- Load and unload products from delivery vehicles, ensuring they are stored in the correct locations.
- Ensure all items are stacked and stored properly to prevent damage and ensure easy access.
- Perform daily safety checks and maintenance on the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Support the warehouse team by preparing and organizing products for shipping.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, products moved, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as required, including packing and stock organization.
Hourly Rate: £12.45 to start.
Shift Pattern:
- Rotating weekly shifts:
- Earlies: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Lates: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Flexibility to work weekends or additional shifts when necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential: Valid forklift operator’s license (counterbalance).
- Previous experience in a forklift driving role or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
- Desirable: Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- First Aid certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.
