We are seeking a skilled Mechanical / Multiskilled Engineer to join our maintenance team at our site in Tameside within a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment, with a strong focus on mixing, batching, and pumping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of process and plant equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across mixing, batching, and pumping systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot:
- Industrial mixers and agitators
- Batch processing systems
- Pumps (gear, diaphragm, centrifugal, etc.)
- Valves, pipework, and associated process equipment
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience working in a chemical or process manufacturing environment (adhesives, coatings, resins, or similar preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Mixing and blending equipment
- Batch processing systems
- Industrial pumping systems and fluid handling
- Mechanical fault finding and repair expertise
- Basic electrical fault-finding skills (desirable for multiskilled engineers)
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in a hazardous environment
