Pickles Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Site Shift Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business in Manchester.
This is a hands-on operational role, leading a small shift team and taking responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the site during your shift.
We're looking for somebody who enjoys being out on the shop floor, leading from the front, solving problems and keeping production moving.
What you'll be doing Leading and supporting a team of up to 7 people Overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations Ensuring production runs safely and efficiently Managing shift handovers and operational communication Responding to breakdowns and prioritising Engineering support Managing staffing levels and arranging shift cover Monitoring quality and dealing with issues as they arise Driving improvements in safety, productivity, waste and efficiency Managing high-risk work permits and clearances Taking responsibility for the site during out-of-hours operations Maintaining accurate production/SAP information Taking a hands-on approach and getting involved when required What we're looking for You'll ideally have previous experience within manufacturing, chemical, process or another regulated production environment, with experience supervising or leading an operational team.
You'll need: Strong leadership and people-management skills Good manufacturing/production knowledge A strong approach to Health & Safety Confidence making operational decisions Good IT skills Experience with SAP/MRP or similar manufacturing systems The ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends Previous experience within a COMAH environment would be advantageous This isn't a desk-based management position.
