The position is a minimum of 3 days per week, hours as below. Some flexibility is required according to the needs of the job, i.e. extra hours/days will be required periodically to cover holidays, busy periods, month-end, etc.

We require an experienced accounts dept. manager totally conversant with computerised systems and a good knowledge of Excel. Ideally, the applicant will have analytical skills coupled with attention to detail. It is essential that they be able to perform the following routine duties:

  • Oversee Sales & Purchase ledgers
  • Manage the bank account daily (including the cash book analysis)
  • Prepare monthly management accounts (& compare with forecast)
  • Prepare annual budget/forecast
  • Ensure that the financial systems are accurate
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Arrange foreign payments and the treatment of import VAT
  • Cash flow forecasting

Additionally, they would be expected to carry out the following periodic or occasional tasks:

  • Production of reports for sales analysis, including “cost of sales” reports
  • Arranging company insurance – providing necessary data (stock, payroll, turnover & costs) for renewal quote
  • Keeping up to date with any financial legislation changes likely to affect the business

It is expected that the applicant will spend 2-3 weeks with the current incumbent for on-the-job training and familiarisation with the position.

HOURS: 9.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Wednesday. Lunchtime 12.30 pm to 1.15 pm. Additional hours/days as required and agreed.
