Pickles is rebuilding pet care from the ground up. We run a membership-based practice in Fulham, West London, where no one ever pays a consultation fee. Underneath it is technology we've built ourselves: our own practice management system, a member app, and an exclusive UK DNA testing partnership.
The clinic is where we learn. Everything we build there becomes software, products and services for our members and for the wider veterinary market.
We're founder-led by a team that has built and scaled a UK tech company before. Now we're doing it again in pet care, and we're looking for an Operations Lead to help build it.
Real-world meets software — You'll run a physical clinic day to day, and turn what you learn there into systems, tools and digital products.
Small team, outsized output — We don't just use AI, we build with it at the model level: we train and fine-tune our own models. A small, sharp team here does the work of a much bigger one, and you'll help decide where we point that next.
Learn from people who've done it — You'll work directly with a founder who has scaled a tech business before, and with our Clinical Director.

What you'll own
- Leading and developing our Customer Experience team
- Day-to-day clinic operations: rotas, premises, suppliers and keeping the practice running smoothly
- Managing and supporting the wider team with our Clinical Director
- Digital operations and client success across the member experience, online and in person
- Designing the systems, processes and protocols we'll take into new locations and new services
- Spotting what should become software, and working with us to build and test it quickly
What we're looking for
- Proven operations experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing or startup business
- Experience managing a team
- Someone who's happy on the shop floor and equally at home shaping a product
- Sharp, curious and quick to pick up new tools, especially AI
- Loves building systems, fixing what's broken and iterating fast
- Hungry, driven and ambitious, and wants to grow with the business
- Veterinary experience is a bonus, not a requirement
What we offer
- £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience
