Pickerings is a leading supplier of high‑quality temporary buildings. We design and supply solutions to a diverse customer base, including schools needing extra classrooms, commercial businesses needing additional office space and construction sites requiring a complex of offices and welfare facilities.
The Role
As part of the depot’s operations team, you’ll be the principal operator of a B2 forklift and will be responsible for safe and efficient loading and unloading of our buildings onto delivery vehicles, as well as transferring them between storage and preparation areas. You’ll conduct and record quality checks of our buildings, pre‑delivery and upon their return. You’ll also be responsible for checking and replenishment of consumables and supporting the operations team with building preparation and maintenance.
About You
It is essential you hold a valid B2 Forklift licence with previous experience of loading and unloading delivery vehicles, ideally gained in a similar setting.
You’ll be someone who strives to meet deadlines, whilst always working safely, efficiently and fostering effective working relationships with colleagues.
Our yard operations predominantly take place outdoors, so you should be prepared to be exposed to extremes of weather.
The Company plans to relocate the depot to Alton in Hampshire in the next 18 to 24 months and therefore expects applicants to be able to commute to this location.
