Overview
The successful candidate will be expected to provide technical expertise and support to engineers and office staff, ensuring complex issues are resolved efficiently. The role focuses on mentoring, fault diagnosis, maintaining industry standards, and promoting effective communication to deliver safe, high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Engineer Support: Act as the first point of contact for engineers, providing technical advice both in and out of hours.
- Office Assistance: Support office staff with technical queries when required.
- Advanced Fault Finding: Attend sites to conduct in-depth technical fault diagnosis, rectifying issues or identifying root causes.
- Two Person jobs: Carry out two person jobs as part as ongoing development and training
- Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers to support their development.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments and external stakeholders.
- Meetings: Attend quarterly meetings with the department manager to review field operations, protocols, and compliance.
- Site Audits: Attend site audits to support the departments ongoing improvement.
- Customer Portals: Assist engineers in navigating and using customer portals effectively.
- Knowledge & Expertise: Maintain a high level of mechanical and electrical industry knowledge to support effective decision-making.
- Health & Safety: Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and ensure compliance at all times.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned to support the needs of the department.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within the Mobility industry.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong technical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities, with experience resolving complex issues.
- NVQ 2: Minimum qualification or working towards NVQ 2 in stairlift engineering.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to colleagues and customers.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Demonstrated ability to mentor and support engineers, fostering skills development and confidence.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, ensuring compliance at all times.
- IT Skills: Competent in using customer portals and company systems.
- Flexibility: Willingness to support engineers both during normal hours and as part of an out-of-hours rota (Escalations).
- Teamwork: Proactive and collaborative approach, able to work effectively with office staff, engineers, and management.
