Role Description The Lift Engineer role is a full-time on-site position based in London. The role involves carrying out routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair work on a range of lifting equipment, including passenger and goods lifts, in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include responding to service calls, conducting safety inspections, completing technical reports, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely resolution of issues. The Lift Engineer will interact with customers on-site, provide clear updates regarding work progress, and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of equipment. The position may also involve supporting modernisation projects and occasional installation work, ensuring all activities are performed in line with health and safety policies.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills and experience working with lifting equipment, including lifts and related systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair activities, including fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Sound understanding of health & safety standards and regulations relevant to lift engineering, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Customer service skills to deliver a positive on-site experience, manage expectations, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Recognised engineering or lift industry qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent) is desirable.
- Previous experience in lift engineering or a related mechanical/electrical field is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to customer sites across London as required.
