Who are Pickerings

Pickerings is a leading supplier of high-quality temporary buildings. We design and supply solutions to a diverse customer base, including schools needing extra classrooms, commercial businesses needing additional office space and construction sites needing a complex of offices and welfare facilities.

The Role

As part of the depot’s modular team, you’ll interpret CAD drawings to undertake the construction of modular building structures, along with the fitting of internal fixtures such as doors, windows, wall partitions, kitchens and sanitary ware to fulfil customer expectations.

About You

You’ll have expertise in a range of industrial trades such as joinery, plumbing and electrics along with demonstrable experience of constructing, maintaining and modifying modular buildings within the modular and portable building industry. You’ll be someone who strives to meet deadlines, whilst always working safely and maintaining quality standards and be able to work effectively with colleagues. Some building construction takes place outdoors, so you should be prepared to be exposed to extremes of weather, as well as being physically able to manoeuvre the large components of a modular building structure.

What we offer

In addition to an hourly rate of £17.65, you’ll get:

  • 33 days holidays, inclusive of public holidays and a festive shut-down period
  • Opportunity to earn an additional merit payment based on work ethic and productivity
  • Company pension and life assurance schemes
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
