The R&D Project Coordinator plays a vital supporting role in the Project Management Department, within the wider R&D organisation, assisting with various tasks and contributing to the overall efficiency of all R&D Projects. The Project Coordinator plays a leading role in the planning and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects across R&D. Responsible for coordinating timelines, actions, project meetings and documentation, communicating risks and progress to R&D Leadership, ensuring everyone has clarity on project timelines and ownership.
A good Project Coordinator is organised, engaging, enthusiastic about their work and genuinely wants to help remove project roadblocks where they can so the R&D team can deliver to the best of their abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Plan Management: Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and milestones for each given project, ensuring data is never more than a week out of date.
- Project Reporting & Communication: Creation of project reports for R&D Leadership, identifying potential risks, dependencies and delays to the project delivery, escalating where necessary.
- Project Lifecycle: Ensure agreed project methods, processes & standards are adhered to throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Project Documentation: Working with the project team, ensuring all Project Documentation and reviews are complete and up to date.
- Project Meetings: Responsible for organising and leading project meetings, distributing agendas taking notes, identify ownership and tracking actions.
- Project Administration: Responsible for setting up R&D projects as they are assigned, adding to the relevant R&D systems as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum 4 GCSE’s including Maths and English, level 4 or above, or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Working within the Microsoft 365 environment, i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working within a project based environment is advantageous.
- Working within a high paced Engineering environment is advantageous.
- Working with Smartsheet and Teamwork is advantageous.
- Skills/Competencies:
- Good judgement, self-motivation, multitasking and excellent organisational skills.
- Show perseverance whilst understanding others viewpoints and priorities is essential.
- The ability to work unsupervised, and as part of a team and proactively seek out work and help others.
- Set expectations and deliver on them.
- High degree of computer literacy.
