The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The test technician works as part of the production test team in the testing, validation and verification of electronic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to implemented electronic test plans and procedures.
  • Work on test systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Work on the reliability and accuracy of test results through continuous process improvement.
  • Develop a good understanding of Pickering’s products and systems.
  • Help produce detailed reports of the faults found to aid in the continued work on ATE test programs for new products.
  • Fault finding down to component level.
  • Ability to perform clean and accurate repairs.
  • Willing to work with new test methods and associated test fixtures/cables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Higher level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, such as HNC or BTEC level 3.

Key Skills:

  • Some experience in electronic test, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic test methodologies, tools, and equipment.
  • Be able to test down to component level.
  • Awareness of industry standards such as ISO 9001 and IPC.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of High Voltage, RF & Microwave test requirements and associated regulation is desirable but full training will be given.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be well organised and disciplined.
  • Be able to work well as part of a team.
