The Pickering Group Ltd is a multinational group of electronics manufacturers headquartered in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex in the United Kingdom with operations worldwide. The Group is comprised of three companies: Pickering Electronics, who manufacture reed relays; Pickering Interfaces, who manufacture switching systems; and Pickering Connect, who manufacture the supporting cables and connectors. All three companies have a reputation for producing innovative high-quality products for the test and measurement industry, which focuses on the production of equipment designed to identify, measure and regulate manufacturing processes. The applicant will be focused on assisting the Compliance Manager in the day-to-day coverage of Pickering Group product compliance. The applicant will be upskilled to the point of being able to carry out assessments and testing independently.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with different departments within the Pickering Group to develop plans for implementing processes for meeting compliance objectives.
- Help assess our range of Pickering products to the relevant legislation.
- Produce documents and reports based on information provided by the design and test teams.
- Compile the relevant documents for each product into a Technical Construction File with a view to NRTL certification.
- Liaise with NRTL's to pass product groups into certificates and assist in audits.
- Education/Experience: HNC or above in a STEM subject, or at least 2 years’ experience in a compliance, engineering, or related role.
- Competencies: Professional report writing in Microsoft Word.
- Training on CE marking for the Machinery Directive and Low Voltage Directive.
- Clear and presentable report writing.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to think creatively to tackle compliance issues with minimal impact on the business.
- Organised with documentation.
