What You Can Expect as a Group Cyber Security Analyst
To proactively monitor and manage the cyber security posture of the Pickering Group. To use various tools and monitoring systems to investigate potential threats, identify vulnerabilities and put in measures to protect and prevent.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for suspicious activity.
- Proactive threat hunting to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and implement security measures.
- Document incidents and provide post-incident analysis reports.
- Manage and optimize security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems.
- Stay updated on emerging security technologies and recommend improvements.
- Assist with cyber projects and solution implementations.
- Provide guidance to staff on best practices for data protection and cyber hygiene.
Required Qualifications
Education: A degree in Cyber Security or related fields.
Experience: Experience managing SIEM, IDS and other security tools and working in a corporate environment.
Skills/Competencies: High attention to detail, problem-solving and analysing data, good understanding of OSI model, scripting tools and Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
Any cyber security or networking certifications.
