This role can be carried out from a variety of offices including Leicester, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow or London. /p /p p p The Principal Hydrologist will act as the conduit between the wider team and Associates/Associate Directors. Youll take ownership and lead on projects, checking the work of your team and managing delivery of technical and commercial work. /p /p p strong Your core responsibilities will include: /strong /p ul li Undertakehydrological and flood hydraulic simulations and provision of model outputs and analysis , acting as the point of contact in directing others to do so. /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif UseFEH and other standard methodologies to support engineering design, river engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation schemes and hydrological/hydraulic design on projects from pre planning stage all the way through to construction detail . /font /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif Runand supervis e Flood Risk Assessments, bespoke hydrological assessments, drainage design and strategy, and hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, WINFAP 5, ReFH 2, Low flows 2 or similar software . /font /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif Actas a technical lead in supporting the Flood Risk and Hydrology Team in all aspects relating to the use or output of our software portfolio and provide advanced modelling and content creation support , as well as responding to specific scope and deliverable requirements from clients. /font /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif Supportand direct others in the analysis of data and data sets to define trends, correlations and anomalies using appropriate technologies and software . /font /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif Maintainyour Continuing Professional Development (CDP) plan of training in accordance with Institutional requirements, which will keep you up to date with technical advances and benefit you and Pick Everard. /font /li li font face= Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, sans-serif Ensure that you understand and comply with all Pick Everard Security, Health Safety, sustainability and social value standards, requirements, practices, and procedures. /font /li /ul br strong About You /strong p strong Our ideal Principal Hydrologist will have: /strong /p ul li BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng degree relevant to hydrology . /li li Chartered member of CIWEM / ICE or other relevant professional body with 4-8 years post qualification experience . /li li Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to hydrology . /li li Experience in flood hydrology using FEH and other standard methodologies to support engineering design, river engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation schemes and surface water design on projects from pre planning stage all the way through to construction detail . /li li Experience in managing bespoke hydrological assessments, drainage design and strategy, as well as hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, or similar software. /li li Experience in designing and supervising hydrological surveys and designing solutions. /li li Experience of managing large multi-disciplinary projects. /li li Experience in c onducting hydraulic modelling and producing associated reports , with experience of s upervising and reviewing technical work of team. /li li Good knowledge and understanding of land development, the planning process, national planning policy and UK legislation. /li li Strong CAD experience and GIS skills using Arc, MapInfo or QGIS. /li li Tendering/bid preparation experience. /li li Demonstrable Project and Financial Management experience/skills. /li li EIA experience and producing EIA Chapters. /li /ul h3 About Us /h3 p Our nationwide multidisciplinary team of 780+ employees, work collaboratively to deliver outstanding places and spaces that create lasting value for local communities.
