We are looking to appoint an Associate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to be based in our Manchester office. You'll be part of a national, ever-growing team, supporting projects across the whole of the UK. There will be a wide, varied workload and the role will focus on delivering portfolios of work across the private and public sector where you will ensure projects are delivered to the right scope of time, quality and budget. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector, managing various contracts throughout.
  • Preparing designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents.
  • Carrying out building analysis and providing system design calculations.
  • Liaising directly with clients and contractors.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.

About You

Our ideal Associate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) must have:

  • HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical) or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • No restrictions in ability to obtain Security Clearance for secure projects.
  • Significant experience in mechanical building services/HVAC design, including domestic water services, ventilation, heating, and cooling.
  • Strong working knowledge of IES, Hevacomp, and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including UK Building Regulations, as well as Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM.
  • In-depth understanding of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
  • Proven design skills across a range of sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and self-motivated approach.
