Role Purpose:
The role is required to design and deliver internal communications which positively influence wider Corporate Affairs activities. The role requires the ability to adapt and flex to the needs of the business to secure their buy-in and implement improvements to systems, processes, and technology, as appropriate. To apply knowledge and insights concerning the corporate affairs activities and how this impacts our policyholders. Specific accountabilities assigned to the role of Corporate Communications specialist within the corporate affairs function:
- Support and deputise for the Head of Corporate Affairs in managing internal and corporate communications projects.
- Managing the company’s intranet site (Huddle) and content schedule. Creating content and news on Huddle (SharePoint site) including video and written content.
- Creating scripts, taking points and key messages for internal speakers/content owners.
- Manage the monthly Town Hall programme including agendas and support with presentation slides.
- Compiling and writing reports on user engagement with internal communications as needed.
- Supporting the team in the development of internal communications campaigns aligned to the company’s purpose and strategic objectives.
- Keeping the shared internal communications and employee engagement calendar up to date.
- Liaising with members of other departments about internal communications newsflow including HR, PIC Capital and the Charity Committee.
- Supporting in the management and logistics of internal and corporate affairs events as necessary including the PIC summer event and all staff event ‘Typically Us’.
- Support the Corporate Affairs team with other key activity as required e.g. corporate and financial reporting, press releases, social media posting and reporting, award submissions and marketing content and thought leadership.
- General admin duties as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge
- High proficiency in written communications including proofreading, editing, shortform and longform copy.
- Established knowledge of other communication skills including verbal and presentation skills, specifically around adapting to the audience.
- Familiar with SharePoint as used for intranet.
- Basic / Intermediate / Advanced knowledge of MS Teams for live group meetings, Slido, and MS Forms.

- Ability to organize work to meet deadlines with a capacity to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Experience
- Experience in developing and maintaining intranet sites.
- Experience of delivering internal comms campaigns from conception to implementation and evaluation.
- Experience working in a corporate or consulting environment, the majority in financial services or regulated sectors.
