We at PIB are on the lookout for a dynamic Fire Risk Assessor to effectively manage a personal portfolio of clients in order to deliver high-quality fire risk assessments and fire risk management service whilst at the same time contributing to and supporting PIB Risk Management and PIB Group as a whole.

The role offers strong potential and prospects. We want the successful candidate to progress from Fire Risk Assessor to Fire Risk Engineer, supported by our guidance and funded study towards a Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design & potentially a Fire Engineering Degree.

The ideal candidate will already be qualified to Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor Certification with good Maths and English qualifications, and experience will already be gained within residential, commercial & complex workplace environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Visit varied sites and industries: no two days or buildings are the same.
  • Travel with purpose: visit new clients, see how different buildings operate, and solve real-world problems on the ground.
  • Autonomy and impact: shape safer outcomes while building your engineering skillset.
  • Conduct and deliver high-quality fire risk assessments and provide fire risk management consultancy.
  • Advise clients on practical, risk-led improvements.
  • Collaborate with designers, contractors, and insurers on new and existing buildings.
  • Contribute to fire strategies and technical reports with support from senior engineers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Suitably qualified in Fire Risk Assessment to Level 4 as a minimum.
  • Be registered with the IFSM fire risk assessor register at Tier 2 minimum (CFAR).
  • Strong experience with residential and commercial premises.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and guidance documents.
  • Strong diary management and administration skills.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in Math’s and English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; confident with clients on site.
  • A curious, analytical mindset and a willingness to travel.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and provide realistic cost-effective solutions.
  • Full UK Driving License.
