About the role
PIB Group is one of the UK's fastest-growing insurance businesses, and we’re building the commercial infrastructure to match our ambition. As we scale a multi-provider outsource model spanning BPO, IT managed services and captive operations we need a senior commercial leader who can hold providers to account, protect PIB's interests, and drive real value from our supplier relationships. This is a Director-level role reporting directly to the COO. You’ll own the end-to-end commercial relationship across our outsource portfolio, lead the Vendor Management Office function, and be the single point of escalation for all provider performance matters across the Group. It’s a high-visibility, high-impact position for someone who thrives at the intersection of commercial rigour, regulatory accountability, and strategic influence.
What you’ll be doing
- Commercial & contract leadership
- Own all commercial contracts across PIB's BPO, IT managed services and captive provider portfolio
- Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring PIB never auto-renews on unfavorable terms
- Drive the shift from input-based FTE models to outcome-based and step-down pricing as automation matures
- Act as PIB's primary relationship owner with all providers at account director and board level
- Chair quarterly business reviews and manage escalation for all P1/P2 incidents
- Build credible, commercially robust relationships; providers should view PIB as a demanding and serious client
- Ensure all outsource arrangements remain compliant with FCA SYSC 13.9 and Lloyd's Delegated Authority requirements
- Maintain SMCR accountability mapping and coordinate annual outsourcer audits
- Present quarterly outsource performance summaries to Core Exec and Apax
What we’re looking for
- Several years in outsourcing, vendor management or commercial contract management in a regulated financial services environment
- Proven track record negotiating complex BPO or ITO contracts, including with India-based providers
- Working knowledge of FCA SYSC 13.9, SMCR and IDTA obligations
- Confident engaging at C-suite and board level, internally and with provider account directors
- Commercial sharpness to challenge pricing assumptions and hold providers to their contractual commitments
