Our employee benefits consultants adopt an approach of supporting organisations across all areas of financial and non-financial rewards that meet the needs of a business and its employees. This includes healthcare, corporate pensions, risk, employee benefit communications and employee benefits technology.
The Employee Benefits Consultant is responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate clients, delivering high-quality consultancy services across pensions, risk, healthcare, and/or flexible benefits. This role involves direct client engagement to develop relationships, address queries, and deliver timely, tailored solutions.
The Employee Benefits Consultant will act as a thought leader in specialist areas of employee benefits, presenting governance reports, conducting market reviews, and supporting clients in broadening their benefits offering. This role also includes involvement in new business development (no cold calling) and ensuring full adherence to regulatory requirements. The Employee Benefits Consultant is expected to meet key financial targets and act as a trusted advisor, providing expertise across all areas of employee benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Relationship Management: Portfolio management: Oversee a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring that their employee benefit schemes are effectively managed, regularly reviewed, and optimised to meet evolving needs.
- Direct client engagement: Maintain regular, direct contact with clients to resolve queries, support relationship development, and ensure the timely delivery of services, establishing yourself as their primary point of contact.
- Service expansion: Identify opportunities to broaden the range of services offered to clients, presenting tailored solutions that enhance their overall benefits offering.
- Client meetings: Attend and participate in client meetings to provide updates, present solutions, and ensure clients understand and are satisfied with their benefit programs.
- Workplace Pensions (if relevant): Governance services: Deliver a range of pension governance services, including attending client governance meetings, preparing and presenting governance reports, and ensuring all pension schemes meet regulatory and compliance standards.
- Market reviews: Conduct and manage market reviews, advising clients on the competitiveness of their current pensions offerings and making recommendations based on market insights.
- Financial wellbeing presentations: Present financial wellbeing information to employees in both in-person and virtual formats, providing essential guidance.
- Salary exchange: Implement salary exchange programs for clients, explaining the benefits and impact to employees and ensuring a smooth rollout across the organisation.
- Risk & Healthcare Services (if relevant): Risk and healthcare consultancy: Advise clients on their risk and healthcare offerings, ensuring they meet company and employee needs and align with market trends.
- Re-broking process: Manage the market review and re-broking process for risk and healthcare products, ensuring that clients receive the most competitive terms and coverage options available.
- Flexible Benefits & Technology (if relevant): Flex platform consulting: Act as the consultant for flex and technology platform implementations, providing expertise on the underlying benefits and supporting clients in navigating platform features.
- Platform support: Assist clients with platform setup, benefits integration, and employee engagement to maximise the effectiveness of their flexible benefits programs.
- New Business Development: Revenue targets: Meet key financial targets set by the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that revenue growth and client retention goals are achieved.

- Professional qualifications (e.g., CII, PMI) are highly desirable.
- Experience Minimum of 5 years in employee benefits consultancy or a related role, with a strong understanding of DC Pensions, with knowledge of risk, healthcare, and flexible benefits an advantage.
- Knowledge Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits products, market trends, and regulatory requirements, particularly within FCA-regulated environments.
- Skills Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high standard of accuracy and diligence.
