Are you passionate about shaping the right outcomes for customers, the business, and the regulator? We’re looking for a proactive, detail‑driven Compliance Analyst to join Barbon’s First Line Risk & Compliance team. Whether you’re ready for your next step in compliance or you’re an experienced specialist looking to join a dynamic, growing organisation, this role gives you real influence over how we do business and treat our customers. You’ll sit at the heart of our insurance operations, helping the business navigate FCA requirements while keeping customer outcomes, good conduct and commercial reality in balance.

What you will be doing

  • Act as a first point of contact for day‑to‑day compliance queries, providing clear, practical guidance.
  • Support colleagues in making decisions that balance FCA expectations, commercial objectives and fair customer outcomes.
  • Monitor, review and assess compliance with FCA regulations and internal policies across our insurance activities.
  • Support incident investigations through to completion, ensuring actions are identified, tracked and evidenced.
  • Maintain accurate and timely compliance documentation and records.
  • Collate and analyse Conduct MI, spotting themes, trends and emerging risks.
  • Carry out root cause analysis and help the business design meaningful, sustainable fixes.
  • Manage sanctions checking procedures, ensuring robust controls and appropriate escalation.
  • Help ensure the business operates in line with Group policies, procedures and our risk appetite.
  • Support the implementation of advice, findings and guidance from the second line of defence (2LoD).
  • Help translate 2LoD feedback into practical actions and improved processes in the first line.

About you

You might be an experienced compliance professional ready for more ownership, or you may be looking to step into a broader, more impactful role. Either way, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a compliance, regulatory or risk‑focused role (insurance experience highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of FCA expectations and insurance‑specific regulation, or the ability to quickly build this.
  • Analytical mindset - comfortable working with MI, identifying trends and getting to root causes.
  • Clear communicator - able to translate regulatory requirements into straightforward guidance for non‑specialists.
  • Organised and self‑motivated - able to manage your workload, meet deadlines and follow issues through to resolution.

Qualifications such as ICA, CII or a law degree are an advantage, but not essential if you have the right experience and mindset.

Why join Barbon?

  • Real impact: Your work directly shapes how we treat customers and manage regulatory risk.
  • Variety: You’ll work across multiple products, processes and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Development: Exposure to first and second line activity, with opportunities to deepen your technical and commercial understanding.
