PIB Risk Management is currently recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Health & Safety Consultant. The purpose of the role is to provide Health & Safety Consultancy within the following sectors subject to competency:
- Automotive
- Engineering & Manufacturing
- Haulage & Distribution
- Retail & Commercial
You will be responsible for covering Chelmsford and surrounding areas. Travelling to client sites is an integral part of this role and some overnight stays will be necessary. This is not a contractor role. The role is a 5 day per week client facing role.
Responsibilities:
- Work to an agreed scope of work and timescale with each client.
- Produce and review risk assessments, safe systems of work, method statements, policies etc.
- Carry out site audits, inspections etc.
- Carry out accident investigations if required and assist with preparation of a legal defence should this prove necessary.
- Must have a good understanding of RIDDOR.
- Where applicable, operate our on-line Health and Safety Management System (xCenta) and help integrate the system into clients who use the system.
- Deliver technical support to colleagues, clients, others etc.
- Represent the Company and client when dealing with enforcing authorities, insurance companies etc.
- When requested undertake noise assessments, hand arm vibration assessments, safe air testing etc (training will be provided).
Experience:
- Minimum requirement of NEBOSH General Certificate and must be willing to work towards Level 6 NVQ Diploma (or equivalent).
- Excellent documented CPD.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent understanding of current Legislation and standards.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Forward-thinking and capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Must have clean UK driving licence and own car (car allowance provided).
Desirable experience / qualifications:
- DSEAR
- Noise & Hand Arm Vibration Assessments
- Fire Risk Assessment - Level 3
