We are dedicated to producing world-class products while prioritising safety, sustainability, and innovation. We believe in creating a safe and healthy environment for our people, protecting the planet, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The Role
We are looking for an engaging and forward-thinking Safety & Environmental Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you'll lead by example, inspire teams, and turn ideas into impactful actions. You'll set the standard for safety, health, and environmental practices across our multi-site operations.
The role is not just about compliance; it's about creating a safety culture that our people truly believe in, steering high-performing teams to success, and finding innovative solutions to reduce risks and improve sustainability. You will play a vital role in shaping and delivering our SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) strategy, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while championing a proactive Culture of CARE across the organisation.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just tick boxes but actively leads from the front—someone who sees challenges as opportunities to raise the bar and leaves a lasting legacy of improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and Lead: Build strong relationships across teams, from the shop floor to senior leadership, ensuring safety and environmental practices become second nature at every level.
- Strategic Leadership: Work with the Supply Chain Leadership Team (SCLT) to develop and execute clear and actionable SHE plans aligned with global, regional, and Opco priorities.
- Innovative Solutions: Identify and implement creative and effective SHE initiatives that address risks, reduce incidents, and promote sustainability.
- Drive Performance: Lead and coordinate high-performing teams, ensuring the delivery of measurable improvements in SHE performance across the Supply Chain.
- Governance & Compliance: Develop and maintain a robust governance framework to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Incident Management: Lead investigations into medium-to-high severity incidents, ensuring lessons learned are embedded and improvements are implemented.
- Capability Development: Build and strengthen SHE expertise across the organisation through coaching, training, and succession planning for Safety Managers.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to the SCLT, providing insights, trend analyses, and recommendations to achieve SHE goals.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a dynamic leader who can engage teams, inspire change, and deliver innovative solutions. You should have a passion for creating safe and sustainable workplaces, combined with the ability to steer high-performing teams to achieve ambitious goals.
This is your chance to take on a career-defining role in an organisation that values leadership, innovation, and sustainability. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, the platform to lead, and the resources to drive impactful change across a large-scale operation.
We're not just looking for a manager; we're looking for someone who will challenge us, elevate our practices, and inspire the next era of safety and environmental excellence.
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior SHE leadership role, ideally in manufacturing, supply chain, or a similar environment.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate teams at all levels, fostering a culture of collaboration and ownership.
- A track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex SHE challenges.
- Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Clear communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex topics and bring people along on the journey.
Our Benefits
As part of the team, along with your salary you'll also receive:
- 15% flexible benefits (can be taken as cash, benefits, or a mix of both)
- An annual bonus.
- Company funded Private Medical Healthcare, double matched pension (up to 10%), 35 days holiday.
- A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers!
- Comprehensive Opportunities to develop.
You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with one of our colleague networks where groups of colleagues from all over the business work together to ensure we're always working towards being a diverse and inclusive company.
