As a Barback at The Piano Works Cardiff, you support the bartenders and bar team to ensure smooth bar operations in a busy, high-volume live music and drinks venue. You’ll help keep the bar fully stocked, clean, and running efficiently so the bartenders can focus on serving guests and creating great experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Stocking & Preparation
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies throughout service.
- Prepare and cut fruit/garnishes as needed.
- Refill ice bins and keep supplies accessible for bartenders.
- Cleaning & Organisation
- Keep the bar area clean and tidy, including counters, shelves, and equipment.
- Collect and wash used glassware and return it ready for reuse.
- Take out trash and recycling as needed.
- Organise stockrooms and fridges so everything is easy to access.
- Support the Bar Team
- Assist bartenders during busy periods with any tasks that help speed up service.
- Set up the bar before shifts and help close down at the end of the night.
- Communicate low inventory or equipment issues to bar supervisors.
- Health, Safety & Standards
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and adhere to all health & safety regulations.
