Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Health Physiotherapist role based in Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting clients in Gosforth and the wider North East region.
The Occupational Health Physiotherapist will assess and manage MSK conditions related to workplace activities, providing evidence-based treatment plans and rehabilitation programs.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting workstation and ergonomic assessments, delivering manual handling and injury prevention training, and advising employers and employees on safe work practices.
The role also involves documenting clinical findings, maintaining accurate records, and communicating clearly with multidisciplinary teams, managers, and occupational health providers.
The physiotherapist will contribute to wellbeing initiatives, support return-to-work planning, and participate in service development to enhance the quality and efficiency of Occupational Health Physiotherapy services.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e. g., HCPC) and membership of a professional association (e. g., CSP).
- Demonstrated experience in Musculoskeletal and Occupational Health Physiotherapy, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of work-related MSK conditions.
- Skills in workstation and ergonomic assessment, manual handling training, and workplace risk assessment, with the ability to provide practical recommendations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, deliver group training, and provide clear written and verbal reports.
- Ability to work autonomously in an on-site environment, manage a varied caseload, and prioritize tasks effectively to meet service demands.
- Comfort with using digital clinical systems and basic IT tools for documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and promoting inclusive, non-discriminatory care in diverse workplace settings.
