Physiotherapy Matters Limited (PML) is a leading provider of private Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Occupational Health Physiotherapy (OHP) services in the Northeast. PML offers home visit physiotherapy for older people and individuals with mobility challenges who cannot attend clinic locations. The company also delivers comprehensive occupational health and wellbeing services, including workstation assessments, manual handling training, ergonomic assessments, and broader wellbeing programs. Team members work collaboratively to improve function, reduce injury risk, and enhance overall health in workplace and community settings.

This is a part-time, on-site Occupational Health Physiotherapist role based in Liverpool on a self-employed basis for 1 day per week. The role involves delivering occupational health physiotherapy services, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation for employees with MSK and work-related conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing workstation and ergonomic assessments, providing manual handling training, and advising on injury prevention and return-to-work strategies. The Occupational Health Physiotherapist will liaise with employers, occupational health teams, and other healthcare professionals to develop tailored interventions that support workforce health and productivity. The role also includes maintaining accurate clinical records, contributing to wellbeing initiatives, and participating in service development and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Chartered Physiotherapist (e.g., HCPC registration or equivalent) and a recognised degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, preferably within occupational health or workplace settings.
  • Knowledge of workstation assessment, ergonomic principles, and manual handling best practice, with the ability to translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and rehabilitation planning skills, with a focus on functional outcomes and safe return to work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, employers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, manage a varied caseload, and prioritise workloads in a busy occupational health environment.
  • Comfort with using electronic health records and basic IT systems to document care and produce reports.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and keeping up to date with evidence-based practice in MSK and occupational health.
  • Experience delivering training or group education sessions on topics such as manual handling, posture, or workplace wellbeing is desirable.
