About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and welcoming nursery in Penge (SE20) for an experienced Room Manager to lead their busy Toddlers Room.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early years professional who enjoys leading a team, delivering high-quality childcare, and creating a positive learning environment where children can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the Toddlers Room, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.
- Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support, mentor and supervise room staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Monitor children's learning and development through observations and assessments.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children's progress.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and senior leadership team to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above) - essential.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an Early Years setting, ideally with room leadership or senior practitioner experience.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach to childcare.
