To provide full support to Sonographers performing Ultrasound scans for patients referred to the service. To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans in a professional and empathetic manner including acting as a chaperone for all ultrasound scans. To contribute to the smooth running of the Ultrasound Service and to work closely with all other staff. Travel is required.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Providing support to Sonographers performing ultrasound scans for patients referred to Physiological Measurements Ltd.
- Set up and tidy of clinic room prior to clinic commencement.
- Collection of patients from waiting room and escorting them into clinic.
- To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans.
- Attending to patients’ needs, including chaperone duties, in a professional and empathetic manner.
- To undertake the transfer of Ultrasound machines across various geographical sites.
- Ensuring that clinic rooms are maintained according to specified clinical/IPC standards.
- Responsible for transportation of the consumables between various clinical locations.
- Contributing to the organisation's clinical audits as required.
- Attendance at the Advanced Imaging Assistant meetings.
- Willingness to undertake any other tasks and duties, which may be delegated from time to time.

- To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans in a professional and empathetic manner including acting as a chaperone for all ultrasound scans.
- To contribute to the smooth running of the Ultrasound Service and to work closely with all other staff.
- Entering patient details onto Ultrasound machine accurately.
- Explaining to patients the preparatory requirements for the examination and ensuring their correct positioning on the couch, communicating effectively and appropriately with all users of the service.
- Adhering to patient confidentiality always and complying with Data Protection.
- Participation in IPC audits and site assessments.
- Responsible for transportation of the consumables between various clinical locations.
- Caring out clerical duties as required including use of the Ipmc system.
- Transferring all patient images to the CIMAR at the end of each clinic.
- Participating in all training by e-learning or other methods and keeping up to date as advised.
- Taking part in the appraisal system.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Sonographers and Operations staff.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with GP staff and deal with any clinic setting issues.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Essential: Experience of working in a team, Customer/Patient facing experience.
- Desirable: Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel throughout the region is required to cover multiple sites.
- Eligibility to reside and work in the UK.
- Good general health and physical fitness.
- Enhanced DBS will be taken.
- References will be taken.
