As a Materials Planner & Buyer you would be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials to support production needs at BVI Netherlands and the UK, balancing supply, demand, and inventory levels in a regulated manufacturing environment. This is a maternity cover contract.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
- Manage and process material requirements from BVI Netherlands and the UK, ensuring timely availability of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively adjust planning to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth and reliable material flow.
- Review demand fluctuations and communicate supply risks in a timely and structured way.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing total supply chain costs.
- Support cost-saving initiatives delivered through global sourcing and procurement teams.
- Maintain accurate material and planning data in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP or Oracle).
- Track and report key performance indicators such as OTIF, material availability, and overdue purchase orders.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain planning processes.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain optimization principles is an advantage.
- Proactive, structured, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
