Downe House has an exceptional opportunity for a Teacher of Physics to join our successful Science department from January 2027 on a full or part time basis (0.8 FTE). We are a leading independent boarding school for girls aged 11–18, based in the village of Cold Ash near Thatcham. Our aim is to provide pupils with a wealth of academic, pastoral and co–curricular opportunities to allow them to grow into confident young women prepared to take on the world.

The school has a well equipped Science Faculty housed within a purpose built building, boasting eight fully equipped, modern laboratories. We are also fortunate to have four specialist technicians on hand to support our teachers with lesson and equipment preparation. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified teachers who are keen to develop their practice within a leading independent boarding and day school for girls.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach Physics to all levels, including GCSE and A level. Please specify in your application if you are seeking a full time or part time (0.8 FTE) position.
