Smile Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in North Manchester to recruit a passionate and committed Physics Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment, with the role starting in September 2026 for the new academic year and offering long term potential. Additionally, there are short term opportunities available between now and the end of the academic year for candidates looking to gain experience or secure immediate work.

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging and high quality Physics lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Prepare students for GCSE Physics and wider Science curriculum outcomes
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to both theoretical and practical aspects of Physics teaching

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Physics lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Support students in developing strong scientific knowledge, practical skills, and confidence in Physics
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
  • Maintain strong behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Support students in both practical and theoretical Physics
  • Promote safe working practices within the classroom and laboratory
  • Assess and monitor student progress where required
  • Contribute positively to the wider Science department
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Hold QTS or a recognised teaching qualification
  • Have a degree in Physics, Science, or a closely related subject
  • Have experience teaching Physics within a secondary school setting
  • Be confident delivering Physics across KS3 and KS4
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective classroom practice
  • Be confident in managing behaviour effectively
  • Show a genuine passion for Physics, Science, and student achievement
  • Be professional, reliable, and adaptable
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Have the right to work in the UK

Pay & Benefits

  • GBP170 – GBP235 per day, dependent on experience
