Estates Compliance & Maintenance Officer
12-month fixed-term contract
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £37,300 per annum WTE
Farnham, with travel across our hospice, outpatient facilities and retail shopsAre you looking for a job where your practical skills and experience can make a real difference? At Phyllis Tuckwell, keeping our buildings safe, compliant and well maintained helps our teams provide exceptional care to patients and their families.
We have an opening for an Estates Compliance & Maintenance Officer within our friendly and supportive Estates team. Following our move into a new hospice, this is an opportunity to help establish effective maintenance and compliance arrangements across our buildings and equipment, making improvements that will last beyond the 12-month contract.
Working closely with the Estates Manager, you will develop planned preventative maintenance schedules, organise servicing and inspections, maintain accurate records and coordinate contractors. You will also carry out structured reviews of our 18 retail shops, identifying maintenance needs and helping put consistent arrangements in place across the estate.
This is a varied, practical role combining organisation and record keeping with site visits, contractor coordination and hands-on support. You will help resolve day-to-day maintenance issues within your competence, while ensuring outstanding work and safety concerns are followed up.
If you would like to use your experience in a welcoming, committed team and see the difference your work makes, we would be delighted to hear from you.
About You
A successful Estates Compliance & Maintenance Officer will have:
- A relevant Estates or Facilities qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an Estates, Facilities, Maintenance or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of planned preventative maintenance, maintenance contracts and contractor management.
- Knowledge of building compliance, inspections and statutory testing, with an understanding of health, safety and Estates-related risks.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to maintain accurate electronic records and produce clear reports.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors and suppliers.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience of working across multiple sites and a practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving would be an advantage.
