About Phyllis Court Club

Phyllis Court is a private members club situated in a grand riverside manor, set in 18 acres of land with 17 guest bedrooms on the River Thames in Henley-On-Thames and spectacular views over the river and the countryside beyond. Phyllis Court has excellent facilities, superb cuisines and wines, relaxing riverside accommodation and friendly staff being the perfect setting to meet friends and colleagues, with the highlight of the year being Henley Regatta. The Role:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, your role as Night Porter will involve supporting the smooth overnight operation of the Club. Working alone or alongside another Night Porter, you will perform a variety of tasks across the premises, including guest services, security, and operational support. The role requires physical tasks along with using IT systems (training provided). Working Pattern: Shifts are from 20:00pm to 07:00am, including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide exceptional guest services, including late check-ins, greeting residents, and addressing requests efficiently.
  • Handle complaints professionally, escalating issues as needed while ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with bookings for members and guests, including tickets, restaurant reservations, and room bookings, either in person or over the phone.
  • Manage overnight security by monitoring the premises, reporting suspicious activity, and maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a Night Porter would be desirable.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email).
  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Strong observational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and problem solve.
  • Enjoy working in a team and have a positive friendly can-do attitude.
