The Role

You will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to oversee Food & Beverage operations, consistently striving for better efficiency and higher service quality for our Members. Your ideas will help maximise sales and revenue, support team performance, and cover Duty Manager shifts on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Food and Beverage events and day‐to‐day operations within budgeted interface and to the highest standards across all venues.
  • Deliver an exceptional experience to our Members and preserve excellent levels of internal and external service.
  • Identify customer needs and respond proactively to all concerns in line with company policy and SOP.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of food & beverage, recalling menus and ingredients to inform customers and staff.
  • Monitor sales, ensuring members and guests receive prompt and accurate service.
  • Conduct briefings before service to ensure staff are updated on menu specials, dietary requirements and special occasions.
  • Provide on‐job training in line with club standards.
  • Ensure food and drinks are served to the standards of the departmental SOP.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic after service.
  • Ensure that all equipment is handled correctly, and that breakage and incidents are logged and reported.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling according to company policy.
  • Maintain cleaning rotas and training records daily/weekly.
  • Cover Duty Manager shifts on a rotational basis.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by line managers that are commensurate with the role.
  • Ensure all of the above duties are completed within our Customer Service values at all times.
  • Enforce relevant legislation (health & safety, hygiene, fire and licensing).

Essential Requirements

  • Previous relevant experience in a similar supervisory role (desirable).
  • Experience managing a team, training and overseeing performance (desirable).
  • Good overall knowledge of food and beverage, including pairing wines with food, upselling wine or cocktails and training others.
  • Strong people‐management skills, including setting objectives and providing feedback.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiating, and communicating clearly with Members and Colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office suite and related software.
  • Familiarity with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system such as ESP.
  • Ability to lead by example.
