We’re seeking a dynamic, hands-on Fire Service Manager who can drive and deliver technical excellence and help build and deliver our longer-term strategic plan to support Compliance being the market leading business in the facilities management compliance sector.
The Fire Service Manager role at PHS Compliance will involve:
- Ensuring the region is always resourced in line with order book requirements, managing recruitment and onboarding activities as necessary.
- Providing first-line technical support to engineers, resolving issues efficiently to minimise operational impact.
- Undertaking site surveys and preparing quotations as required to support operational and commercial objectives.
- Dealing with customers’ queries efficiently and effectively, to provide the best possible customer service.
- Effectively managing engineering staff, including workload allocation, productivity, PDA usage, and the timely submission of reports and certification, managing engineer absence and holiday arrangements, ensuring all related administrative processes are completed accurately.
- Processing engineers’ weekly PDA timesheets, verifying on-site and off-site activity against tracking and monitoring systems.
The ideal candidate for a Fire Service Manager at PHS Compliance will have:
- Demonstrable experience in fire alarm and fire extinguisher inspection, testing, and associated remedial and repair works.
- Proven experience in fire project delivery, including planning, coordination, and effective management of project budgets.
- Confident and effective communicator, able to engage professionally with clients and colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to make logical, well reasoned, and cost effective decisions that support business objectives.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience of fire industry practices, standards, and compliance requirements.
- A motivational leader who inspires teams to drive delivery and high performance.
- A smart and analytical leader, who can propose flexible alternatives and see ways around issues to achieve continuous improvement and development.
