As a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you play a key part in the success of phs. Being an experienced Class 1 Service Driver, your responsibilities will include service (collection & disposal) of health-related waste products ranging from Pharmaceutical, Non-Hazardous Waste & Hazardous Clinical (Sharps, Orange Bags etc). The role is both internal and external facing, with daily interface with depots, customers & suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- You will follow planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage any site access issues.
- Utilise double deck trailer and tractor unit combinations to complete bin exchanges on site, collecting full and leaving empty bins.
- Complete hazardous consignment notes & transfer notes on your PDA.
- Utilise 40-foot trailer and tractor unit combinations to transfer waste to tipping sites across the Northwest of England.
- You will return to your allocated depot every day.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Safety and legal compliance are a must. We welcome applications from people with a good safety record.
- Full, clean Driving licence (LGV Class 1) and Digi Tacho holder.
- Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations.
- Driver CPC training would be an advantage, however further training will be provided if needed.
- ADR qualified, however further training will be provided if needed.

Essential requirement
- Full UK Class 1 Driving License for a minimum of 12 months (Subject to insurance requirements), with a maximum of 6 points.
- The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of an enhanced DBS check.
- Due to the nature of waste we handle and the customers we service, itβs mandatory drivers are to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio.
