Are you a reliable, hands-on individual who enjoys working independently, travelling, and taking pride in a job well done? If so, phs Floorcare has an exciting opportunity for a Mat Well Operative to join our growing team, servicing customer sites across London and the South of England. This is a mobile role where you'll be responsible for cleaning and maintaining entrance barrier matting at a variety of customer locations. You'll receive full training, a company van, and all the equipment needed to succeed.

About the Role

As a Mat Well Operative, you will travel to customer premises to clean and maintain barrier matting systems, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and presentable. Working independently, you'll follow established cleaning procedures, use specialist equipment, and deliver a professional service that reflects the high standards of phs. The role includes:

• Early morning starts with early finishes
• Travel across London and the South of England
• Occasional overnight stays depending on work schedules and routes
• Working independently in a company-provided vehicle

Key Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites and comply with site sign-in procedures
• Assess work areas and implement appropriate safety measures and signage
• Vacuum loose debris and apply approved cleaning solutions
• Carry out water extraction cleaning using specialist equipment
• Ensure all areas are left clean, safe, and unobstructed
• Complete service records and obtain customer sign-off where required
• Report any defects, hazards, or issues identified during visits
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent phs professionally at all times

We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working on their own. You will ideally have:

• A willingness to start work early in the morning
• A reliable and self-motivated approach
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The physical capability to safely operate cleaning equipment
• Flexibility to travel and stay away from home when required
• A professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety
• A full UK driving licence (essential)
