Job Description:

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team on a Full Time and Permanent basis as a Laundry Operative at our Blackridge Operations Centre, working with our Floorcare Hygiene Division, part of the phs Group – the leading Hygiene Services provider in the UK.

We need someone with experience in production, manufacturing, or commercial laundry to assist with the day-to-day running of the laundry, ensuring all floorcare products are washed to high standards and in accordance with phs Group procedures. We hope that person is you.

A day in the life of a Laundry Operative with phs will involve:

• Processing all mats for washing to quality standards set by phs.
• Meeting production and service quality standards.
• Providing high-quality service with rapid turnover of mats, ensuring they are properly clean and dry.
• Maintaining laundry equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures, keeping records up to date.
• Deciding on minor repairs or notifying the Laundry Support Manager in case of machinery breakdown.
• Following changeover procedures at shift end and passing relevant information clearly. Keeping accurate production figures as required.
• Applying the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, including emergency procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Understanding of laundry systems, machinery, and processes
• A methodical and logical approach to work
• Effective communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written
• The ability to learn new systems quickly
• A creative approach to problem solving

• A salary of £25,500 (based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday)
