Lead Technical Auditor

As a Lead Technical Auditor, you will take ownership of PHS Compliance technical auditing capability, ensuring every verification, inspection, and certificate meets the highest standards.

You’ll act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, safeguarding compliance with BS 7671 and wider regulatory frameworks.

Role Overview

  • Technical Leadership – Lead and manage the Technical Auditor function, ensuring consistent, high‑quality audits across all service lines.
  • Qualified Supervisor Duties – Act as the organisation’s NICEIC QS, ensuring full compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Audit Quality – Oversee technical verification processes, ensuring accurate documentation and certification.
  • Compliance Oversight – Drive adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support the Head of Technical Excellence in maintaining and enhancing compliance with:

UKAS Accreditation requirements, ISO 9001 – Quality Management, ISO 17020 – Inspection Bodies, ISO 45001 – Health & Safety, ISO 14001 – Environmental Management, You’ll also help embed new and emerging technical accreditations, supporting organisational

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (e. g., NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation).
  • Electrical Inspection & Testing qualification (e. g., 2391).
  • Strong working knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition).
  • Working knowledge of ISO and/or UKAS‑accredited systems.
  • Experience working within compliance‑driven environments.
  • Previous experience as a NICEIC QS in a multi‑site or national environment. (Desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience in technical auditing, inspection, and certification.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of other compliance service lines (EV charging, fire, HVAC, lightning protection). (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with digital certification systems and audit management tools (Desirable)
  • Full UK manual Driving License for a minimum of 12 months (Subject to insurance requirements), with a maximum of 6 points.
