As a Class 2 Service driver in our Healthcare Division, you play a vital role in the success of phs. To our customers, you are the face of the company. Your excellent customer service skills help keep our customers happy and ensure they remain our customers.
Your responsibilities include collecting a range of healthcare related waste products, including Pharmaceutical, Non-Hazardous, Hazardous, and Clinical Waste. Whatever your route for the day, you’ll play an essential part in keeping our customers’ facilities safe, hygienic, and compliant.
A day in the life of a Service Technician at phs will involve:
- Following planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage any site access issues.
- Using in-cab technology, satellite navigation devices, and smartphones.
- Operating Soft Compaction Vehicles designed specifically for the service we provide.
- Emptying/Collecting Euro Bins containing offensive waste.
- Completing hazardous Consignment notes/Transfer notes.
- Returning to your allocated depot every day to empty the waste from the vehicle that was collected.
The ideal candidate for a Service Technician role at phs will:
- Prioritise safety and legal compliance.
- Have a good safety record.
- Hold a Category C (LGV Class 2) license, current Driver CPC card, and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Have held a full driving license for at least 12 months.
- Have no more than 6 penalty points and no IN or DD endorsements of less than five years.
- Be open-minded regarding the products you will be carrying on your vehicle.
- Be advised to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio, and Hepatitis A.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you will receive:
- A salary of £32,448 (Based on a 40-hour working week Monday to Friday).
- No scheduled weekend working.
- 13 paydays per year (Every 4 weeks).
