PHS Greenleaf is looking for a Senior Exterior Technician to join our team in Laleham. This is a hands-on, varied role combining horticultural expertise with operational know-how to keep our clients’ outdoor spaces looking their best.
You’ll take ownership of maintaining high-quality external plant displays across a portfolio of customer sites, ensuring displays are healthy, vibrant, and maintained to the Greenleaf standard. You will also support the Operations Manager with stock management, seasonal planning, greenhouse care, and the smooth running of daily operations. The role includes leading installations, managing Salesforce queries, and guiding junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Care & Maintenance: Deliver routine plant care including watering, feeding, pruning, and pest control.
- Seasonal planning: Plan and execute seasonal changes efficiently.
- Plant health: Diagnose plant health issues and take corrective action.
- Site issues: Report and resolve any site issues promptly.
- Stock care: Apply and adapt internal stock-care processes throughout the year.
- Stock Rotation & Inventory: Carry out periodic stock checks and report discrepancies; Maintain stock levels for plants, seasonal displays, and sundries; Implement effective stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Installations: Plan and deliver plant installations and replacements to client specifications; Conduct site surveys and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- On-site leadership: Lead on-site activities and support large-scale exterior planting projects.
- Record-keeping: Log site visits, maintenance outcomes, and updates accurately; Maintain data accuracy to support reporting and service performance.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and standards; Optimise routes and schedules for efficiency.
- Experience in horticulture or exterior plant maintenance.
- A full manual UK driving licence with 6 points or less.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills.
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Horticultural qualifications (e.g., RHS Level 2).
- Knowledge of industry products and equipment.
- Experience leading installations and managing stock.
- A base salary of £30,000
