The Head of Operations at Countrywide Healthcare will play a critical role in leading and optimising warehouse and distribution operations. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, improving performance, and ensuring high standards across cost, quality, and service delivery. This is a senior leadership role where you will develop operational strategy, lead high-performing teams, and support business growth through continuous improvement and innovation.
The Head of Operations role will involve:
- Leading warehouse and logistics operations to achieve performance, controlling costs, and service targets
- Developing and executing operational and supply chain strategy, including continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing and developing an operations team, with overall responsibility for circa 50 employees
- Driving KPI and SLA performance through strong leadership, planning, and resource management
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, regulatory standards, and quality expectations
The ideal candidate for a Head of Operations will have:
Essential:
- Proven experience in operations and warehouse management within a fast-paced distribution environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Experience managing KPIs, SLAs, and delivering operational performance improvements
- Commercially and customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement
- Strong organisational and strategic planning capability
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and HR processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams
- IT literate, including experience with ERP/MRP systems
