Class 2 Service Driver
As a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you play a vital role in the success of phs. To our customers, you are the face of the company. Your excellent customer service skills will help keep our customers satisfied and loyal.
As an experienced Class 2 Service Technician in our Healthcare division, your responsibilities will include collecting health-related waste products, such as Pharmaceutical, Non-hazardous, and Hazardous Waste, as well as clinical waste.
A typical day for a Service Technician at phs includes:
- Following planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage site access issues. Familiarity with in-cab technology, satellite navigation devices, and smartphones is advantageous.
- Operating Soft Compaction Vehicles, similar to refuse collection vehicles, specifically designed for our services.
- Emptying and collecting Euro Bins containing offensive waste.
- Supporting Covid testing stations by collecting sealed waste.
- Completing hazardous consignment notes and transfer notes.
- Returning daily to your allocated depot to unload the collected waste.
The ideal candidate for the Service Technician role at phs will:
- Prioritize safety and legal compliance; applications from individuals with a good safety record are encouraged.
- Possess essential qualifications including a Category C (LGV Class 2) license, current Driver CPC card, and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Have held a full driving license for at least 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points and no IN or DD endorsements within the last five years.
- Be open-minded regarding the products carried on the vehicle.
- Be vaccinated against Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Polio, and ideally Hepatitis A, with vaccinations paid for by phs, due to the nature of waste handled.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you will receive:
- A salary of £34,549 based on a 45-hour week, Monday to Friday, PM shift.
- No scheduled weekend work.
- 13 paydays per year (every 4 weeks).
