About the Role
Position: Procurement Manager (Full Time, permanent).
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve a sourcing strategy for a stated category within an overall category management structure.
- Deliver procurement category strategy, including sourcing activities that generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for cleaning related categories: paper products, chemical products, and cleaning ancillaries/equipment.
- Responsible for key strategic national and international supplier selection and contract negotiations for the defined category area.
- Use category and subâcategory spend analysis, supply base, market trends, and cost drivers to inform decisions.
- Apply procurement tools such as RFI, RFP, RFQ, invitation to tender, and eAuctions to develop supply market positioning and supplier assessment.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills; ability to influence and present at Senior level both internally and externally.
- Experience in a procurement category management role within a crossâfunctional environment.
- Demonstrable delivery of procurement category strategy and its benefits, including financial savings.
- Experience working successfully in a complex environment with high uncertainty around demand forecasting.
- Ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers on contracts up to c. GBP10m.
- Analytical, riskâaware, objective decisionâmaking, lateral thinking and ownership mindset.
- CIPS qualification is advantageous.
