Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable server-side code using PHP.
  • Build and maintain back-end features and modules for our web applications.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers and UX designers to deliver seamless, high-quality user experiences.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance for speed and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews, contributing expertise and upholding coding standards.
  • Support deployment tasks and collaborate in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP experience is a bonus).
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute innovative ideas.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong practical experience in PHP development.
  • Hands-on experience with PHP frameworks, such as Laravel.
  • Solid understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB).
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for learning new technologies and following best practices.
  • Expertise in JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular, along with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
  • Strong experience with Node.js, Express.js, and building RESTful APIs or microservices.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI) and familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker.
