As an Engineering Manager, you will oversee up to four engineering teams, each supported by a dedicated Technical Lead. This pivotal role focuses on scaling i6’s engineering operations, driving technical excellence, accelerating delivery speed, and cultivating a culture defined by innovation, collaboration, and operational rigor.
Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery
- Oversee architecture and infrastructure decisions for the Biosphere platforms.
- Uphold engineering best practices, including code quality, CI/CD, testing, and security standards.
- Drive technical innovation and optimize delivery processes (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
- Establish robust metrics, monitor team performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely, high-quality releases focused on reliability and maintainability.
- Leadership & Management
- Line-manage 3–4 Technical Leads, providing coaching, performance development, and mentorship.
- Ensure career growth through planning and regular feedback sessions.
- Align engineering roadmaps directly with business goals and product direction.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of transparent “career ladders” within Engineering.
- Drive continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and fostering an innovative culture.
- Key Stakeholder Relationship Development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and Customer Success teams to deliver impactful features.
- Build strong relationships with the Infrastructure team, promoting direct collaboration between engineers and Infrastructure colleagues.

Experience
- Proven experience managing multiple engineering teams (preferably 3–4), including line-management of Technical Leads.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field (other degrees considered).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in software development, with at least 3 years leading teams.
- Strong technical leadership experience in SaaS or Cloud-based platforms, ideally involving real-time, data-driven applications.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks.
- Strong grasp of architecture and demonstrated ability to lead architectural decision-making processes.
- Solid understanding and track record of implementing engineering best practices: CI/CD, code reviews, test automation, observability, and security.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow technical leaders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration, preferably within GCP or AWS environments.
- Experience decomposing monolithic applications into finer-grained services.
Note: Coding is not expected in this role, but experience with primary languages (PHP and Javascript/Typescript) is beneficial.
