Principal Engineer - Javascript - London

Responsibilities: Architect and develop scalable and performant mission-critical web applications for front-end and API development. Mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards. Drive a culture of quality and innovation, advocating Extreme Programming methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in Agile processes, and conduct code reviews. Utilize strong debugging skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in both front-end and back-end systems, including internal and third-party systems. Experience working on cloud platforms, with knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) being advantageous. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and solutions is highly desirable. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their impact on product development. Champion continuous improvement, performance optimization, and security throughout the development lifecycle. Skills: Experience in technical decision-making, guiding teams to propose solutions that implement standard methodologies for maintainable products. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor engineers. Experience in QSR, Retail, or E-commerce industries is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Passion for automation, tested code, and high standards for code quality. Keen team player with strong interpersonal skills.
