As we continue to grow, we are looking for a strategic and technically skilled Head of New Product Development (NPD) - Product Manager in Engineering to lead the development of the next generation of our products—from concept to commercialisation.

The Head of NPD (Engineering) role:

  • You will lead the New Product Development Engineering function, overseeing the end-to-end development of innovative hardware and systems.
  • This role is critical in ensuring our technology continues to lead the market in performance, usability, and commercial value.
  • You will be responsible for steering a multi-disciplinary engineering team, collaborating with product management, R&D, electronics, and manufacturing to deliver breakthrough products that push the boundaries of 3D printing.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of NPD (Engineering):

  • Steer the NPD Engineering team in developing new and existing 3D printers, hardware platforms, and integrated systems and software.
  • Define and execute engineering strategies that support Photocentric's product roadmap and innovation goals.
  • Oversee full lifecycle product development: from early feasibility, prototyping, and design through to testing, validation, and production handover.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D (resin/materials), electronics, software, and production engineering.
  • Ensure technical excellence, rigorous testing, and adherence to relevant quality and regulatory standards.
  • Engineering resource planning, project budgets, and milestone delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Support a culture of creativity, embedding NPD in innovation, and accountability.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications of our Head of NPD (Engineering):

  • A strong engineering leader with several years experience in product development with a proven success of bringing new products to market.
  • Experience as a technical Product Manager.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative hardware products from concept through to commercial launch.
  • An accomplished Project Manager managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects with overlapping timelines.
  • Solid understanding of DfM principles, system integration, and production scaling.
  • Passionate about new technology and future-focused engineering.
  • Genuine interest in 3D Printing.
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
