Location: Southwest England, multiple sites
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager (Building Safety) to join our team, contributing to building inspections and maintaining building safety processes for our clients across the south of England. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters including fire, water, asbestos, gas, and electrical regulations.
You will be well versed in legal guidelines and best practices, have high ethical standards, and work diligently to complete your duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business. You must be comfortable saying ‘no’ when necessary and be result-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled inspections on client sites across the south of England and create relevant reports for review.
- Schedule agreed works with contractors, suppliers, and the Clients.
- Maintain detailed records of building inspections and compliance assessments.
- Identify and report health, safety, and maintenance issues to Clients and Contract Managers in a timely manner.
- Cover for the absence of wider compliance team members, handle necessary admin tasks, raise work orders, and update compliance-related records.
- Attend any review meeting with facilities management team and Clients to discuss any compliance issues.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Work with the compliance administration team to ensure all required service dates are maintained and the necessary paperwork is provided in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Must be conscientious and have experience in managing statutory building safety inspections including but not limited to fire safety, electrical safety, ACoP L8, asbestos, and gas.
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
- Ability to follow processes and supervise the provision of contracted service as required.
- NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential if the candidate can demonstrate relevant Health & Safety knowledge and experience.
- Current driving license as regular travel across the South of England will be required.
