The Opportunity

As a Product Data Analyst at Phorest, you’ll be embedded at the heart of our product development process, turning data into clear, actionable insights that shape how we build and improve our software. Working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers, you’ll help the team understand user behaviour, measure the impact of product changes, and identify opportunities to deliver more value to salons and their clients. You’ll own product analytics end‑to‑end — from defining metrics and building dashboards to conducting deep‑dive analyses and presenting findings to stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Product Managers and teams to define success metrics, instrument features, and measure the impact of product changes and releases.
  • Build and maintain Looker dashboards and explores that surface product usage, engagement, retention, and funnel metrics to stakeholders across the business.
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses on user behaviour, feature adoption, and churn signals to surface actionable insights that inform product roadmap decisions.
  • Define and maintain a product metrics framework, ensuring consistency in how KPIs are measured and reported across teams.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation, helping teams design experiments, interpret results, and make statistically sound decisions.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure the right events and data points are captured, pipelines are reliable, and the data model supports product analytics needs.
  • Proactively monitor product metrics, flagging anomalies, trends, and opportunities to the relevant teams.
  • Contribute to data literacy across product teams, coaching team members on self‑serve analytics, dashboard use, and metric interpretation.
  • Support ad hoc analytical requests from product and leadership, delivering timely and rigorous analysis.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally with some of that time in a product analytics context or working directly alongside a product team.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries across large datasets.
  • Hands‑on experience with Looker (LookML, dashboards, explores) — a core requirement for this role.
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and how data fits into agile ways of working.
  • Strong data visualisation and communication skills — you can tell a clear story with data for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to data accuracy.
  • Self‑starter who can manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast‑moving environment.

The Following Are Preferred But Not Required

  • Experience in the hair & beauty industry or a vertical SaaS business serving SMEs.
  • Experience with Python or R for more advanced analysis.

Benefits

  • Your wellbeing is important to us — we provide private healthcare, 2 Wellness Days, an employee assistance program and a free online GP service.
  • Financial Wellbeing — competitive Compensation, an Employee Share Purchase Scheme, Pension, Life Assurance, and Income Protection.
  • We help you travel by providing a bike to work scheme as well as tax saver transport tickets.
