The Role
As a Substance Use Practitioner you will be providing harm reduction to those with substance use issues and supporting their recovery through relapse prevention and care planning. You will also act as an advocate for these service users, signposting and referring to the necessary agencies in order to support them in their recovery holistically.
About You
- Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable field.
- Committed to patient care and first‑class service provision.
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service.
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and familiar with database management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of complex issues and health priorities presented by people entering custody.
- Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support.
This role will be Monday – Friday (every other Friday off) with occasional Saturday working as part of a rota. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. - Salary starting at £29,383.65 (inclusive inner London weighting), with opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, meaning potential salary increase up to £31,085.65.
